Shannon and Matt

Image from Shannon and Matt's Wedding Reception from Squier Photography. Click for a slideshow.Shannon and Matt had their wedding reception a couple weeks ago. The wedding was a little earlier in the month -- in Alaska! Typically, destination weddings are in Hawaii, San Diego, or someplace like that -- places a bit more tropical than Alaska. But then, Shannon and Matt aren't all that typical.Image from Shannon and Matt's Wedding Reception from Squier Photography. Click for a slideshow.Since they didn't have their friends and family around for the wedding, they had a reception here in Columbus. We started out with portraits at Highbanks Metro Park, and then moved on to dinner at Hyde Park. There was a surprise fish cake (no, not that kind of fish cake) and some other great moments.Image from Shannon and Matt's Wedding Reception from Squier Photography. Click for a slideshow.

Lacey and Everett

What a beautiful wedding this was. The weather could have been better, with the storm and loud thunder, but other than it being a bit damp, everything was perfect. The ceremony was at First Community Church in Upper Arlington.

I'll let the pictures do most of the talking on this one. Be sure to see their slideshow, too, for lots and lots more images.

The reception site was a little soggy. Raymond Memorial Golf Course is a great location. They wouldn't let us take the carts out -- for some reason the tornado warning was the culprit.

Yep. Jumping, heels, and soggy grass. It's amazing no one slipped.

Melissa and David

Image from Melissa and David's Wedding from Squier Photography. Click for a slideshow.
Wow! That pretty much sums up the wedding of Melissa and David. These are some of the nicest people you could ever meet and their wedding was wonderful. We started in the evening and were there for only five hours -- and it couldn't have been better. Well, it started out kind of rough, but once everyone was at the venue, it went flawlessly.

The wedding and the reception were at the Venue at Smith Brothers in downtown Columbus. This is a historic hardware building with beautiful brick walls and a great atmosphere.

David brought a few of his classic cars. Here they are with his Mustang. 1967, I believe, but I'm sure he'll correct me if I'm wrong. There was also an old Buick Eight (1952 maybe) and a 1972 (maybe) Cadillac.

Chris and Emily

Squier Photography Image
Chris and Emily got married! And what a day it was. It started the night before at the Athletic Club of Columbus for a wonderful rehearsal dinner. It's a great venue and I can't wait to do another event there.

The next day was the wedding of course. It took place just down the street from us at St. Brigid's, which is always nice. I've said it before, but that church is just made for weddings.

Then off to Blacklick for the reception. It's a bit of a drive -- I think it took 40 minutes or so. It started icing (or sleeting or whatever it was) but it made the pictures look pretty cool with the streaks.

I'm going to stop writing and just post a bunch of images. Click on any of them to see their slideshow.

Joel and Stephanie

Remember Joel and Stephanie from Boston? Their wedding was a little over a week ago and it was beautiful. Everything turned out wonderfully.

On the drive over, it poured. I mean, so much rain that we were going to pull off the freeway because we couldn't see. Being an outdoor reception, we were a bit concerned. Luckily, the skies cleared up just before the wedding and everything was pretty much dry by the time the reception started. The rain had cooled the air a bit so it wasn't as hot as it has been. It really worked out well.
They left the church amid showers of birdseed!
We didn't do too many portraits at the church, but I love this one.
Afterwards, they got into a carriage to head to the reception.
But not before stopping traffic in the middle of town.
Then a few portraits at the reception.
The tent was beautifully decorated with lots of engagement portraits lining the walls.
These cute lanterns lit the way to the entrance.
Everyone was having a great time.
And we had to have a sunset portrait.
Along with the cake, there was a strawberry tree (I had never seen one) and lots of other desserts.
All in all, a fun wedding. Don't forget to take a look at the slideshow and leave them a comment, if you want.

Enjoy!

Jeff and Melissa

Remember Jeff and Melissa's engagement session from last month? Well, last week they got married on the luckiest day of the century -- 07/07/07. We went out of town for a week the morning after so I'm just getting the slideshow up now.
The church had some wonderful natural light coming in, giving a really cool blue glow in the front:
The bridal party:

Just the guys:

She has such a wonderful smile:
The flower girl was so cute and the ring bearer insisted on carrying the pillow upside-down. No, the rings weren't lost.

The altar was decorated beautifully:

I love this image of their rings. On another, similar one, you can read the inscription on the inside of the band.

As always, there was a lot of competition with other photographers.

The first dance complete with swooning junior bridesmaids.

Little girls having fun on the dance floor:

The band was incredible. And the bride's step-dad is in the horn section! How cool is that?

Emily and Chris

Saturday afternoon we had a great time with Emily and Chris at the OSU stadium. Their wedding's not until December so they have a few months to get everything done. They've been together since high school -- isn't that cool?

Afterwards, while we were looking at them over coffee Emily kept saying, "oh I like this one, too," which is great. Sure beats the alternative. ;-)

Take a look at their slideshow for more.

Emily and Paul

Last Saturday was Emily and Paul's wedding and what a blast it was. The weather was sketchy for a little bit, but it turned out beautifully by the time everyone was outside. The rain earlier made for a muggy day, but that didn't stop the celebration! There are a lot more pictures in their slideshow, so be sure to check it out.

More pictures in Columbus Bride

Once again, we have a few photographs in the latest issue of Columbus Bride magazine. It's always fun to go through the magazine and see what they've picked.

First, on page 14, there's a beautiful image, highlighting this bride's dress:

Then, on page 47, there's a picture of the flowers from Kim and Brett's wedding:

A few pages later (p. 51) they pick one of my favorite flower pictures from Kelly and Allen:

Also from Kelly and Allen's wedding is a picture of their cake on page 127:

Sara and Matt also have one of their pictures, on page 138:

The next one, on page 170, is also from Kelly and Allen's wedding:

And you can't forget our ad on page 176:

Then Sara and Andy have their wedding featured on page 210 with two of their pictures:

And finally there's one more image on page 230. It's the same picture we used in our ad!:

We love getting our pictures published (who wouldn't?) and it's fun to give our couples as many magazines as they want.

Katie and Brian's Wedding

We had the privilege to photograph Katie and Brian's wedding a couple weeks ago. What fun! They are just great people and the rest of their family is so nice. It was really cold so we were indoors for the most part. The ceremony was right here in Dublin, at St. Brigid, which is always nice. That church seems to have been built to make weddings go smoothly. After the ceremony we all had a little fun with pictures. Then we went off to where the reception was -- just a couple hours early for some more pictures -- outside ones this time. Now, remember, the temperature was about 5 degrees (-15C) and with the windchill factor, it felt like -8 (-22C). So we went outside with the guys and made them stay in place while the girls ran out to their assigned positions for a few photos. Yes, they were cold, but real good sports. They even did another picture -- this time with the guys' jackets on.Then we went to the mall. Hey, why not? We had gone over there the week before and asked management if that was OK because of the temperatures outside. They let us. We were flabbergasted -- definitely not the norm for any mall management. Just as long as we didn't get any stores' signs in the images. There was this cool staircase and railing at one end that was perfect for the pictures. They even raised some gates that were down there. They let mall security know about us and they were so nice. He came over while we were there to see if there was anything else he could help with.Brian's mom worked at one of the stores in the mall so we had to get a shot in there -- of course we asked. At first she looked at me really strangely, then, when I told her who Brian's mom was she was cool with it.After hanging out at Caribou Coffee (we warned them the day before) it was time for the reception. That was a lot of fun, too, but I'll let you watch the slideshow to see how that went. There was this one guest, though, who looked kind of strange -- very hairy -- but who am I to judge their friends? Now, watch the slideshow, and then leave a comment below. I'll make sure Brian and Katie see them.

Sara and Matt's Album

Here's Sara and Matt's album from the end of last September. The design was just recently finalized so we were able to finish it. I think it turned out really well. Our friend, Leann, from Indiana came along for this wedding. With three photographers it was well covered and the album shows. It ended up being a 60-page album. Check out the album slideshow.

Amber and Joe

Last week I was able to help out another photographer. She was not feeling well and was in and out of the hospital, so I took one of her weddings. Three and a half hours away in Louisville, Kentucky!

Amber and Joe had a beautiful ceremony and are obviously so much in love with each other. It was kind of weird photographing a wedding when I had only spoken on the phone with them, but it all worked out wonderfully.

Here's the slideshow from their wedding.

Sara and Matt's Wedding

A couple weeks ago we photographed Sara and Matt's wedding. It was so much fun. The ceremony was in an old, very big, Catholic Church in Delaware (Ohio). After that, we went to the reception which was held in a big field with a barn, a pond, and a large tent. The tent was a good idea because it rained hard off and on all day. We even had to evacuate the tent for a short time because of lightning. A good time was had by everyone involved and some cool storm photographs were taken, too. There was even a rainbow at one point.

One of the photographs was featured on the Awesome Photographs blog a few days ago, which I thought was pretty cool

Enjoy the slideshow.

Sara and Andy

Wow! It's been a while since I posted anything here. Anyway, last week we had the privilege of photographing Sara and Andy's wedding. It was at the Heritage Golf Club in Hilliard and we couldn't have asked for a prettier day. Of course, during most of the reception, everyone was watching the Texas/OSU game, so it's a good thing the Buckeyes won!

This was on September 9th -- Lynn's birthday! It's kind of funny, because earlier this summer we photographed a wedding on my birthday. It's weird how things happen like that.Sara and Andy will be back soon from their honeymoon, but you get to see the first preview of their images. You can find the slideshow here. Alexander 25th Anniversary Vow Renewal

This was so cool. The Alexanders' 25th wedding anniversary was a couple weeks ago and they renewed their vows. At the same place they said them the first time! It was so much fun being a part of their celebration. It was really nice seeing all their friends supporting them again. Lots of love in this family, for sure. Enjoy the slideshow.

Kimberly and Brett's Wedding

Oh Yeah! Kimberly and Brett got married last Saturday (on my birthday!) and wow, was it a fun day. It was sweltering, but we all had fun, anyway. First stop was Kimmy's house where she got ready, then off to St. Joan of Arc in Powell where the service was very nice. Then to Hilliard for the outside pictures and the reception. Lots of fun. Enjoy the slideshow and leave the couple a comment!

Kelly and Allen

We had a great time getting to know Kelly and Allen last Friday. We met at the Park of Roses in Columbus for their engagement portraits and the light was incredible! There was a bit of a crowd but we managed to keep other folks out of the pictures.

Afterwards we headed over to Caribou Coffee to check out all the images. They turned out so well. Here's the slideshow of some of the photographs. As always, you can also click on the pictures to see the slideshow. Check them out and leave a comment, if you want.

Sara and Matt

We photographed Sara and Matt's engagement session yesterday. These two are so much in love you can just feel it. I can't wait to photograph their wedding at the end of September.

We had the pleasure of photographing on the Dublin Arts Center campus, which is this old house that's been renovated into a gallery. A big thank-you to them for letting us use their property.

Of course, there's a slideshow of a lot of the images.

Amanda and Tim's Wedding

Yesterday Amanda and Tim got married over in Pickerington. We were worried about the rain but luckily it dried up and we had beautiful weather and the sun was out. The church has these huge windows and skylights so it ended up being really bright inside. It was wonderful light for photography.

We have a slideshow of some of the pictures, of course. Take a look and leave a comment if you want.

Sara and Andy's Engagement Portraits

Yesterday evening we headed out to a local park to photograph Sara and Andy for their engagement portraits. We had a great time at the park with their dog on the trails. These engagement sessions are so much fun because you get to see the pictures right away, without any edits at all. And we get to know each other a little better so it's not like just meeting them on their wedding day.

Anyway, there's a slideshow of some images so be sure to check it out.

Amanda and Tim's Engagement Portraits

We met with Amanda and Tim again on Saturday and we had a great time photographing their engagement portraits. They had expected to only do inside studio pictures, but we convinced them to go outside in the wind and cold. It worked out OK because we had them running around a bit. We all had fun and went out for coffee at Caribou afterwar
