Remember Griffin's newborn portraits? Well, he's now a lot bigger after only a couple of months.

Corinne's Maternity Portraits

Corinne and Mark were here a few weeks ago for Corinne's maternity portraits. She's due in the middle of July.She practiced her "heart" before coming in to make sure it looked right.

Amey and Scott's Wedding

Lots of images on this post. Amey and Scott's wedding was this past Saturday and it was beautiful. Here's Amey being walked down the aisle.And this is Scott's reaction to seeing her for the first time in her dress.

Scott and Amey have been taking dance lessons for the past several months practicing for their first dance. They're going to keep on dancing, too.

I love the colors in this image of their rings.
They had custom wine bottle labels made up. The favors were bottle stoppers with hearts.
They also had a trolley that was shuttling guests to the hotel. How fun is that?
It was a beautiful day all around and we wish Amey and Scott the best in their newly-married life.

Trevor's Senior Portraits

Trevor is one of our senior reps over at Dublin Coffman. That means if you want some free stuff with your senior pictures, hit him up for a card to bring in to your session.
We started out inside for some studio images.
The black-on-black looks great.
Then we switched it up with white and a change of clothes.

We headed over to Coffman to take some photos at the stadium.The Rock made a pretty cool backdrop! We also had great clouds for the photos.

Ivy's 6-Month Portraits

Check out how big Ivy is getting. She's now a little more than six months old and sitting up. We all had a great time with this session -- we even had her diaper off for a good twenty minutes with no leaks! That's one of the only times that's happened.

I decided to do the "Little Parts" collage a little differently this time. It's nice when you can get other images that will work, too.

Her expression in this next one is priceless. I don't think she makes this face a whole lot, but I'm sure glad I was able to catch it.Isn't that hat adorable? I wish I could take credit for it, but she brought it to the session herself. OK, her Mom did, really. ;-)
She's not sad here -- she's looking curiously. She wasn't upset at all.
She plays with her feet a lot, so mom wanted to be sure to get a record of it.And we finished up with the tub.

Valarie's 3-Month Portraits

Can you believe that Valarie is already 3 months old? I sure can't. It seems like mom was just here for maternity portraits. She still has a lot of hair -- more than her sister ever did.She's doing a great job at holding up her head.

Amey and Scott's Engagement Portraits

It's finally getting a little warmer outside so we decided to do Amey and Scott's engagement portraits on Saturday evening. It was a little chilly in Marysville but it was a gorgeous day.They're both really goofy with each other, which makes for some great images. They really showed off their personalities.
The park they chose is special -- it's where Scott proposed to Amey.
The light from the setting sun was amazing. Just beautiful.

Griffin is the newest member of our "Baby's First Year" club. His newborn portraits turned out so well. The first image above is one of my favorites.

Here's a close-up of him on the towels.
He was doing so well we put him in the rocking chair. He stayed asleep for most of the session.
He was holding his head up so well, but we propped him up a bit for this next one.

Caleb's Sr. Portraits

Caleb is one of our last seniors of 2009. They weren't going to do them, but then decided to give us a call.
He's a guitarist and felt most comfortable with one of his guitars in his hands.
I was really happy about how the outdoor images look. The light was perfect.
And the park really suited his personality.
The whole session was relaxed and fun.

Dana's Senior Portraits

Dana is another senior who waited a while to do her senior portraits. I really like these late-in-the-year sessions because we're not trying to get a yearbook picture and we can just have fun.

This tie-dye portrait turned out really well. I love her smile.We were in the studio for the first part of the session.
Then we went outside. It was a pretty nice day for pictures.
And then Dana went in the creek, just like Victoria did the day before. It was great. I've been trying to get people in the creek for years and no one has taken me up on it. I guess it's easier in March than in the middle of Summer. ;-)

Victoria's Senior Portraits

We had a great time the other day with Victoria. She waited until the end of the year to get her senior portraits because she "doesn't like having her picture taken." She was a little reserved at first but we got some great images.

This first one is one of my favorites from the session. I think it captures her smile perfectly.

I really like how her face is so bright in this one:
Yes, she managed to get into the creek! It was really cold (being March, and all) and she nearly lost a flip-flop in the mud, but I think it was worth it.

Baby Bonanza Was A Success

If you've followed this blog, you know that the Baby Bonanza was held this past Saturday. As usual, it was a lot of fun and we had a blast. Also, as usual, we were completely beat at 4:00 when it ended. Having a complicated booth, we were the last ones out of there. We had a lot of framed portraits in our double booth. Here's what our booth looked like (with our wonderful helpers):

We passed out over 200 gift certificates ranging from $10 to $75 and they were pretty evenly distributed. Our "lollipop" game was a hit with both the kids and their parents.

There were some games for the dads. The object was to strap the baby (doll -- not a real baby!) into the stroller:

Then race through traffic cones to the other side, where they had to change the baby's diaper:

This one was a close race:

And then race back to the starting line.

There were also three "diaper derby" races. The lines on the racetrack are just for show. The babies didn't stay in their lanes very well.

Some of the babies got a slow start -- even after the winner had been announced:

Then there was a fashion show:

Even some of the dads walked the "runway" with their model kids and babies.

A princess stopped by to give a tea party for whoever was interested. I was bummed that I had to work -- it looked like a lot of fun.

And, finally, some gymnastics on stage.
There were even more events than this.

Ethan at 1 year

Ethan just finished up his year in portraits with us and we all had a great time. It's so fun to watch these kids grow from tiny newborns to one-year-olds (and beyond).

Abby and Ella at 3 Months

Baby Bonanza this Saturday!

The third annual Baby Bonanza is coming up this Saturday, the 14th. It's a big show for "everything from pregnancy to preschool" at the Aladdin Shrine Center (directions) over by Easton. We've been a part of it for the past two years and we're excited about this third show.

This year, we'll be giving out bookmarks, lollipops, gift certificates, and having prizes drawn every hour. We'll also have a bunch of new samples for everyone to see.

Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for grandparents, and children 12 and under are free. If you go to the Baby Bonanza web site, you can get a dollar off coupon.

Aaron and Audrey

You might remember Audrey from her previous portraits, but her baby brother is brand-new! Aaron is about two and a half weeks old right now. Mom and Dad brought him for his newborn portraits with his big sister.

This first image is adorable. Our tea set has seen a lot of use lately.Here's one of the whole family:
Aaron was very sleepy, but we managed to catch a few with his eyes open.
Look how high he's raising his head.
Of course, when we wanted him to sleep (or at least close his eyes), he was wide awake. He's pretty cute.
Audrey loves giving Aaron kisses.
But she also loves lollipops.
I love it when kids stick their tongues out.

Natasha is one of our "last minute" seniors -- the ones who need a yearbook photo right away before the deadline. ;-) She was a joy to photograph and has the most amazing smile. Interviewed for Angie's List

Several weeks ago, Lynn was interviewed for the Angie's List Magazine and the story appeared this month. For those who don't know what Angie's List is, it's a place where you can rate and review all kinds of service professionals. It's mostly used for finding a contractor, plumber, electrician -- that sort of thing. Most folks wouldn't think of using it for finding a photographer, but there are a lot of categories that don't get as much use.

We've been rated on Angie's List for 5 years or so and we've probably had ten referrals for every review that's up there. Of course, we love getting reviews and we're happy to say we have the most of any other photographer who's on the list. We're not supposed to say what our rating is, but if it wasn't very good, we wouldn't mention it, right? ;-)

So, anyway, Lynn was interviewed a couple months ago and it's a pretty good article. The only thing is that the prices she quoted are from our old, 2008 price list. Because they've increased since then, we've decided to offer our 2008 session prices to all Angie's List members for the rest of February. That's about 2 1/2 weeks from today. You'll need to book your session before then to get the special price.

Here are a couple images that were published with the story. This is our family portrait that we rushed outside to do because they needed one for the article.And this is the headshot of Lynn.Here's another one, but they didn't run it. I think it shows what we're really like.

Erin is One!

Some of you may remember Erin, a real cute girl who's been on our Baby's First Year plan for about a year, now. Well, she's now one and celebrated with us with portraits and a baby-sized cake.

First up we had a little tea party.
Then she wanted to be in the rocking chair. Or, rather, she wanted to climb all over the rocking chair.
Her brother, JB, also came along this time.
And then on with the celebration with balloons and cake!
Erin did a great job on the cake. She really got into it. Bits of cake were all over her face and she had a wonderful time after the initial shock of "is Mom really letting me do this?" wore off.
